Is there a quick guide to determining the ideal garage door?
Follow this 3-step process: material, design, energy (the Made method). First, determine the best material for your environment and application. Second, determine your desired design, which will be based on available space and your sense of style. Lastly, determine your desired energy efficiency level.
Is it possible to install a doggie door in the garage door?
Yes, but the height of the doggie door can only be as tall as the bottom panel. It should be large enough for most dogs. If you have a giant breed like Great Dane or St. Bernard, you’d have to teach them to squeeze through. Alternatively you could consider switching to swing doors or folding garage doors.
Are automatic garage door openers necessary?
If you use your garage door at least twice a day, an opener can be extremely useful - it basically prevents you from doing the heavy lifting and manually opening your door by yourself each time. Of course, noone has to get an automatic garage door but we would advise you to do so if you plan to access your garage on a daily basis.
